Liver cancer (or primary liver cancer) is cancer that starts in your liver. Your liver is a large organ that helps your body:

• Digest food

• Store nutrients

• Filter harmful substances

 

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common type of liver cancer. It starts in the main liver cells called hepatocytes.
