Transplant:  Sam is a blessed heart recipient and he’s #forevergrateful to his #donorhero and to #DonateLife for the ultimate #giftoflife, which he received on April 20, 2015 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

Family:  Sam is married to Viji and, his daughters are: Anika (21) and Maya (16).

Career:  Sam is an accomplished and experienced leader with proven analytical and management skills, developed over almost 30 years of diverse work and life experiences.  Sam’s work experience in the public sector has been with Defense Finance Accounting Service (DOD), and with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). In the private sector, Sam’s been fortunate to be involved with companies like General Motors (GM), The Hartford (HIG), Equifax, Epsilon, and NextGen Analytics (a startup).  Sam remains fully committed to using all his skills and talents to live life to its fullest potential.   As a member of TRIO's board, Sam hopes to follow his passion and mission of paying-it-forward by working with the Transplant community; he also aspires to be a life-long advocate for organ donation and wants to promote awareness whenever and wherever possible.

Volunteering:  Sam is a Donate Life Ambassador, for two(2) OPOs near his home [Washington Regional Transplant Center (WRTC) and The Living Legacy Foundation of Maryland (LLF)].  Additionally, Sam is an active member of Team Maryland, and he will be competing in his first Transplant Games in 2020.  Sam is also Ambassador with United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), and he aspires to become involved with certain committees in the near future  Whenever possible, Sam shares his Transplant Journey at events and hospitals.. Locally, Sam is part of the Committee Against Hate Violence (CAHV) in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Other: “By registering to donate organs, eyes, and tissue - even just one donor can potentially save upwards of 75 lives directly, and impact countless others indirectly.  We live in a world where we can make a difference.  Let's all commit to doing so by saving lives.”
