TRIO Board annual meeting was held in Philadelphia,
Saturday, Nov 19th at the Gift of Life Donor Program
offices - officers for 2012 (assumed office at this
meeting) were elected as follows:
Secretary: Susan Pincus
Treasurer: James Mateiko
Vice-president: Elizabeth Rubin
President: Jim Gleason
Also held in Philadelphia Nov 18/19th were planning
sessions for the TRIO PCP (i.e., Primary Care Physician)
donor awareness program and the on-going strategic
planning maybe better known as the revitalization or
intervention development committee work (under
leadership of Will Oler, MAL). Details from these
sessions will be coming out in Lifelines and the month
member E-newsletters shortly, so stay tuned.
All in all it was a very intense and productive weekend.
TRIO Board confirmed the three new board members
listed below at its quarterly meeting held May 13 in
Washington, DC as a prelude to the 2011 Leadership

Elected to TRIO National Board - 4/15/11: the TRIO
board approved Kansas City TRIO Chapter president, Merle
Zuel, as its newest member. Click on this title to see

Reardon
Elected to TRIO National board - 3/30/11: the TRIO
board approved Member-at-large (and former Long Island
TRIO chapter member) from South Carolina, Lou Reardon,
as its newest board member. Click on this title to see
his bio. Lou is working with former board member,
John Harwood, in developing a support structure for our
growing members at large base using web based technology
(i.e, a concept referred to as a "virtual chapter")

Council elects new chairman - Chapter
Presidents elected their new Chapter Council
Chairman, JT Rhodes, in recent voting.
Both JT and Alex Boyer, outgoing Chapter Council
Chair, were honored at the Annual Board meeting
for their long years of dedication and TRIO
service with inscribed crystal pieces as seen in
this one for Alex.
In separate Board action, Alex Boyer was voted onto
the TRIO National Board where he had been serving in
the board position reserved for the Chapter Council
Chairman.
The

Initial
funding approved!! TRIO 's nationwide "grass
roots" Primary Care Physicians (PCP) campaign
to address PCP patient education on
organ donation has received its first grant so the
program is now moving to Phase 1 implementation
planning - stay tuned to see how YOU can help! -
Background: Studies show that primary care
physicians rarely discuss organ donation with
their patients despite the majority agreeing that
the topic is both important and within their scope
of practice - together we can make a difference in
this.

Leadership Summit to be held at the area's OPO,
WRTC, in Washington, DC - stay tuned for further
details;
2010 Leadership Summit: On April 30/May 1st TRIO
hosted a special Leadership Summit
conference for TRIO Chapter Presidents and other
leaders or leader candidates to be held in
Philadelphia. With 25 attendees and
speakers from 7 TRIO Chapters, the event scored an
overall evaluation of 9+ (where 10 is the high
score) with the majority of funding being
channeled into scholarships as
reimbursements for travel/lodging expenses for
local chater attendees. Everyone felt
this should be an annual event, so see developing
plans for Spring 2011 above....
