MD, FACC, FAHA, FESC is Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine

Dr. Mariell Jessup speaks about heart health with a focus on current AHA initiatives Mariell Jessup MD, FACC, FAHA, FESC is Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Associate Chief-Clinical Affairs, Cardiovascular Division of Medicine, and Medical Director of the Heart and Vascular Center at Penn Medicine.

She received her BA from the University of Pennsylvania and her MD from Hahnemann Medical College. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Hahnemann University Hospital and a Cardiovascular fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Jessup’s focus throughout her career has been on the optimal management of patients with heart failure, including the appropriate selection of patients for heart transplant and ventricular assist devices (VADs).

Dr. Jessup has served on and chaired many American Heart Association (AHA) committees over the past several years and is now the President-Elect of the national AHA. She is also active in many other professional groups. Dr. Jessup has published numerous articles as well as editorials, reviews, chapters and reports from committees on heart failure, as well as heart transplant.

She has been recognized by The Best Doctors in America and in Philadelphia Magazine’s Top Docs issue.
