July 21, 2011
President & CEO, Gift of Life Donor Program, Philadelphia PA
Howard Nathan, President and CEO of the Philadelphia based (OPO) Gift of Life Donor Program, will talk about the very controversial concept of presumed consent. Under such a process, it is assumed that everyone agrees to be an organ donor unless they specifically opt out by registering that decision. Several states have legislation under consideration today and the debate over its effectiveness has gone on for many years, citing other countries experience in its use as support for its implementation here in the U.S. Come prepared for an interesting evening of education and discussion.
