In review of 2019, our Board of Directors worked diligently to provide enhanced structure to the chapter's functions. Our plan for 2020 is to build upon this structure and expand our activities aligned with our missions of education, advocacy, support, and awareness.
2019 activities:
January - We had the privilege to provide a meal to the residents at Transplant House of Cleveland (THoC)
February - Many chapter members came together to enjoy our Annual After Holiday Luncheon. 2020 will combine our luncheon with our Annual Meeting.
June - Chapter Annual Meeting was held. Two grants from the Michael Corea Educational Program were provided to transplant recipients Asia Werner and Kyler Strotz. The recipient of the Sam C. Jones award was Audrey Caplin, Lead Living Donor Kidney Coordinator at The Cleveland Clinic.
August - Participated and exhibited at Gift of Life Walk/Run held by Lifebanc, our local OPO.
September - Supported Heart Transplant Dinner at The Cleveland Clinic and provided education regarding TRIO.
- Held annual fundraiser at Razzles with raffles, 50/50s, great food and fellowship
November - In observance of Donor Sabbath, Greater Cleveland Chapter held a service and reception at Strongsville United Methodist Church. The shared transplant journeys were moving, the Cleveland Heights Acapella Choir shared their amazing voices during the service, and the reception/fellowship following was enjoyed by all who attended.
