MISSION

~TRIO Youth Circle is committed to empowering people, especially younger people, to never lose hope, and improving the quality of lives touched by the miracle of transplantation through support, advocacy, education, and awareness across the youth community. 

VISION 

~ As a part of TRIO's international organization, to be recognized and respected on a national level as the leading voice of youth affected by transplantation. 

MARKET 

~Provide support to young transplant candidates, recipients, donors, and their families.

I am 27 years old and a kidney transplant recipient.  My mission is to educate, inspire and provide hope! Since my transplant in 2002, my passion has been volunteering, sharing my story, and using my published biography as a springboard to promote public education on the success of organ transplantation, and the ever growing need for organ donation. I have endured health issues since the age of five and was sick most of my youth. My support system was my wonderful and devoted parents. However, my parents and I did not have or know of an organization and support system to go to for help, and to know that we were not alone. I am honored to have the opportunity to offer that to you and your family through TRIO.

I am 25 years old and had a life saving liver transplant in June of 2006. I have since attended the US and World Transplant Games, earning 6 medals so far and proudly dedicating each one to my donor. My passion and mission in life now is tell my amazing story to help spread and promote as much awareness as I can. Also, I want to use my experiences to help mentor other youth and show them there's a wonderful life after transplantation.

            Our goals for the TRIO Youth Circle are:

 
            ~Form a virtual TRIO Youth Chapter

            ~Write a youth column for the TRIO LifeLines Newsletter

            ~Create a TRIO Youth Facebook page

           ~ Promote particpation in  TRIO scholarships for youth

            We have the following volunteer roles available:

 
                ~ TRIO Youth Chapter Coordinator

                ~ TRIO Youth Chapter Co-Coordinator

~ TRIO Youth Chapter Members to partake in over the phone meetings/support groups

~Submit ideas that you would like to read in the youth column for TRIO LifeLines Newsletter

My hope for TRIO's Youth Circle is to form a fun and compassionate group of young people that can share their stories, ideas, and have an organization to turn to and know that they are not alone.
