TRIO Holds Board Meeting at Cleveland Clinic
The TRIO Board of Directors held its quarterly meeting on Saturday, October 13, 2007, at the Cleveland Clinic (Cleveland, OH). In addition to Board members, representatives of the TRIO Akron-Canton Chapter and the TRIO Greater Cleveland Chapter attended the meeting. TRIO expresses appreciation to the TRIO Greater Cleveland Chapter officers and members for hosting a welcoming reception on Friday evening and for their assistance in meeting arrangements. TRIO thanks the Cleveland Clinic Transplant Center for their generosity in hosting this meeting and for the assistance and guidance provided in making meeting arrangements.
TRIO Carepages now available -
a  GREAT funding opportunity for TRIO
You can now provide easy communications to family and friends for any patient through the popular Carepages resource now partnered with TRIO.  When you open a new "active" Carepages account where active is defined as  when your CarePage has 3 or more members in addition to the CarePage Manager or a member with three or more visits, TRIO will receive a special $25 contribution in a promotion that continues through end of December.  In the same 3 month timeframe, there is a contest with the organization getting the most new "active" accounts receiving a bonus of $5,000 above that individual account payment of $25 for each.   Since we are all patients, how about reaching out to be that winning group by opening up your own account and inviting members to your Carepage.  With over 800 members, this has the potential of adding $20,000 plus that prize of $5,000 to our TRIO treasury.  It just doesn't get much easier than that!  Can you help organize this campaign at your local chapter?  Nothing to loose and everythign to gain.  Just click on TRIO Carepages (or type: http://www.carepages.com/trioweb ) to get more information and begin.

New Resource Section
In its continuing effort to provide avenues through which members can share their ideas and opinions with each other and the general public, TRIO’s website now offers a new “Resource” opportunity. The “Resources” section of trioweb.org has been expanded to include an area for posting of “Opinion Papers.” Only TRIO members will be allowed to post papers. Click here to see this new section of the website.
To respond to the ideas presented in an Opinion Paper, log in to TRIO's Bulletin Board. There you will find a topic for each posted paper and you may share your comments, ideas, rebuttals, etc.!
Transplant Movie Nights
TRIO Philadelphia has been a co-sponsor of an ongoing series of  movies shown at the local OPO, each featuring a transplant storyline.  In response to many who have asked about this concept, hoping to launch similar events in their own area (already three other groups have launched their own events), there is now a web resource describing both the event's operation and a listing of 45 transplant movies titles with one line story descriptions that might be used for your organization (or just private home enjoyment).  Click to check out: "Transplant Movie Nights"
Links
TRIO's updated website has an extensive listing of over 700 great transplant related links and now we are updating them to give the actual transplant program page for many transplant centers instead of just the hospital's home page! You can find almost any OPO, Transplant Center, Federal agency relating to transplantation . . . AND you can find sites about specific organs and related sites and interesting items to review.  We review all links to insure they are current and working every three months to maintian the quality of this unique service.
