TRIO northeast Florida has changed its meeting place to the Grabriel House of care on Mayo clinic campus. See our website at www.trionefl.org for directions. Our annual Christmas dinner party for patients and caregivers who were out of town was a great success. 65 meals were served and music by the Dean Lewis family had everybody singing Christmas Carols. Thanks to Rod Lee for his hard work as chairman of this project.

TRIO NEFL gave a $300 contribution to support the Jacksonville Transplant Alliance annual picnic. We also attended donor sabbath gift of life candlelight service and met many donor families

We have no events planned for this quarter but will support other organizations events in the hands across Jacksonville for Organ Donation ,The Katie Bike ride and Walk where we will hand out medals to riders and walkers as they cross the finish line. In May the annual donate Life Day Jacksonville will be held at the Jacksonville Landing. This event is shaping up to be bigger and better.
Why don't you ask a friend to attend our meeting on the 3rd Thursday of each month starting at 7PM at Gabriel house? Our speaker for January meeting had to cancel due to lobbying in Tallahassee but hopefully he will speak at February meeting. Layne Smith is communications director at Mayo and will speak on how the helicopter crash was handled and effects on the transplant program at Mayo.
