TRIO Greater Cleveland now has 82 dues paying members! The following is a synopsis that I submitted to our local ITNS Buckeye Chapter for their Newsletter and describes our recent and upcoming events:

Our After the Holiday Party was well attended on January 20, despite a horrendous Cleveland snow storm! Many came early to make sure they made it. Attendance was about 50 members and we actually gained 2 or 3 members that day. It was nice to catch up with some old friends and meet new ones.

TRIO had a wonderful Dines Out event in February in which LifeLine spoke about their medical alert system. We had about 35 people in attendance and enjoyed a wonderful Italian meal at Guarino’s in Little Italy.

TRIO will host our Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 18 at 5:30 pm. We will have the meeting at the College Club. Dr. John Fung will be our Keynote Speaker. We will be sponsoring the Cleveland Clinic Heart Transplant dinner on Thursday, July 24.

Our Annual Night at the Races will be Friday, August 8th at Northfield Park. Cost is $25 per person and includes admission, buffet dinner and parking. Cash bar will be available. We are excited for the ITNS/TRIO Symposium in September and hope that some of our members will attend!

<>Planning for Donor Sabbath is underway. It will be Saturday, November 15th 1:30 pm at Old Stone Church in Public Square. This is a free event open to everyone; parking fees are not covered. There will be a reception after the ceremony. If you know of any patients, donor families or living donors who might want to participate, please contact Dorene Kray at (216) 441-3532. Please mark your calendar and plan to join us for this very moving ceremony.
